Lake Garda is the most northern region in Europe where can grow the olives for oil production. The water of the lake contributes for a mild climate in the region and so can prosper Mediterranean plants such as palm trees, oleanders, lemons and olives. The east coast of the lake, also called olive Riviera, covers two thirds of the olive production in the area of Verona. First signs of olive cultivation date from the time of the Romans. Olive oil from Lake Garda, with the protected designation of origin (DOP), has a soft and mild taste with a fruity note, its acidity is not higher than 0.7%. It is raw or cooked perfectly by its authenticity, its nutritional value and the full flavor, it is an easily digestible fat and has numerous good properties for the organism. The extra virgin olive oil del Garda has always been an exceptional oil and its freshness and mildness are increasingly appreciated in Europe.
