Realized between 1783 and 1791 by the architect Luigi Tezza, for the Count Antonio Rizzardi, the “Giardino Pojega” (Pojega Garden) is one of the best examples of Italian gardens. Laid out on three levels it has a surface area of 54.000 m².
In the garden there is a temple with statues representing mythological characters, and on the second level, next to the citrus garden, there is the “Stanza della Fontana” (Fountain Room), a circular green area with a pool in the middle. Moving on through the garden, there is the evocative “green theatre”, with seven rows of steps, making it the biggest in Italy. During the summer, theatrical productions are put on here.
It is possible to visit just the garden.
open from Monday to Friday 10am to 5.30pm, Saturday and Sunday only with reeservation.
