Founded in 1897 by the Luciani brothers, in 1974 it became the property of the Heineken company, which however, in September 2004, decided to close the Pedavena plant. Following this decision, the factory workers mobilized to avoid the closure of the factory, after the presentation of about 44,000 signatures and the involvement of the European Parliament, the workers together with all the citizens of Pedavena obtained on January 10, 2006 , the reopening of the plant. From that date the Fabbrica di Pedavena became the property of Birra Castello S.p.A. of Udine, thus returning to being 100% Italian.
The name Pedavena derives from its geographical location, it is located at the foot of Mount Avena in the Belluno Dolomites National Park. These beers are produced exclusively with oligomineral water deriving from the springs of the Oliveto and Porcilla mountains located at the foot of the Feltre peaks, with high quality raw materials according to the ancient brewing tradition. It is a low fermentation superpremium. It is characterized by a balanced and delicately harmonious taste, to which the average alcohol content gives roundness and fullness. The light hoppy note, the exceptional persistence of the foam and the beautiful golden color complete the profile of this extremely pleasant beer to drink.
