Malcesine is located in the province of Verona and has approximately 3,700 habitants. The main attraction of the town is the beautiful castle with Lombard origins, which rises on a rocky outcrop on the banks and has a unique view of the lake. Un must do is a leisurely stroll through the streets and alleys of the old city center, the much received by its originality, spreading the atmosphere of bygone days. Malcesine was early an estimated location of poets and artists. In 1786, Goethe stayed here. The great poet was here even dabbled as a painter to capture the wonderful sight of the lake. About the pedestrian area of central leads from the harbor you arrive to the Palazzo dei Capitani del Lago, the seat of the former Venetian governor. The palace has a wonderful garden that invites you to linger and relax, as well as beautiful Renaissance balconies and battlements. From the Palazzo on a small street away, you reach the old port of Malcesine and its simple but beautiful course designed by restaurants and some ancient buildings surrounded.
