District Festivals

District festivals take place in Garda from 11 June to 15 August 2019 in preparation of the 2019 district rowing contest held on 15 August 2019.
The nine town districts of Garda participate in this year’s district festivals held on eight Thursdays from 11 June to 15 August. The districts are being represented by their coloured banners and and the fish traditionally associated with each district.

The “Palio in Rosa 2019″ women’s rowing contest is held on the waters in front of the town hall, on 13 August.

The 2019 district rowing contest, the most famous and popular event in the town from which Lake Garda derived its name, takes place on 15 August 2019 and on the Assumption of Mary, who is Garda’s patron saint. The evening rowing contest is held in the waters before Garda against a splendid backdrop on the Bisse, typical flatboats of Lake Garda. The winners receive a statue of the Virgin Mary as a prize.

On the end of the day a firework show will illuminate the magical night in Garda
